Charles Germer Jr.
1963–Jan. 15, 2017
On January 15, 2017, Heaven welcomed a new angel. Charles William “Chuck” Germer Jr. passed quietly at home with his family after a six year battle with cancer.
Chuck was born in 1963 to Charles “Charlie” Sr. and Erma Germer. Chuck moved with his family to Pacifica in 1971. He attended Crespi and Ortega schools before going to Terra Nova where he excelled academically and athletically. After graduation, Chuck studied at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo where he earned a B.S. in Computer Engineering. He later earned a B.S. in Computer Programming from Cal Lutheran University.
Chuck took this education and got a job in Ventura County, where he met and fell head-over-heels for Blanca, who became his wife in November 1990. Together they raised five boys. Chuck was involved in all his kids’ activities, from tutoring them to coaching baseball, football, soccer, basketball, and whatever else the boys wanted to do. Chuck took great pride in his boys and their many accomplishments.
Chuck was a loyal Oakland Raiders and Oakland A’s fan. He enjoyed watching games with his friends and family, and especially liked attending games. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing tournaments with his sons and his father.
Chuck is survived by his loving wife, Blanca; sons Aaron (Miriam) Cave, Chris (Amberly) Cave, Charles Germer III (Rachel), Michael Germer (Allie); his parents, Charlie and Erma Germer; Grandmother, Marie Brouillard; grandson, Benji Cave; sister Debbie (Colm) Quinn; nephews including Eric Vargas, Dan Quinn, Dereck Martinez; along with many other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
